And one user, who I was friends with IRL back then, said "Don't ship me with fantasygoose, because we are friends".

I always thought ships were just like...cute bestie pairings. Didn't know it was some imaginary, forced assumption of gay relationships within idol groups.

I agree with your stance. "Shipping" as friends or as a lighthearted joke is fine in moderation, but seriously shipping anyone (in real life) in not okay. The 18+ fanfictions are so gross and unnecessary; they should just be abolished forever (unless the idol explicitly says it's fine, but I can only think of one time when that happened and it's rare). Exactly! You're fine with shipping them, but if you're right, you hate it? Make it make sense. True, one of my friends I know is into Minecraft YouTubers and it happens a lot to them too. On a side note, those videos back in 2018/2019, where the idols would barely glance at each other and get shipped so much for it were hilarious simply because of how much of a stretch they were and the mental gymnastics they had to do to justify their stance. I don't take shipping seriously cause I know it's meant to be a joke but if some people take it serious then they have weird problems

I have shipped fictional characters in shows/books but when it comes to real people, I just "ship" them as friends, so simply I like them as friends and find their friendship cute

I don't think it's that deep tbh. Clearly there are the extreme shippers. Looking at you taekookers

but at the same time there are lots of just regular chill shippers. The ones that make cute or funny edits. I think those are harmless. And a lot of times those 'moments' are done by idols on purpose. Interpretation is up to the viewer imo if you're not going to explain your actions.

What I'm trying to say is shipping is lighthearted to me. I think a lot of interactions are cute af and I wanna see more of them.

I also find it really hard to believe that idols who do sus things with their members are outright disgusted by the fact that people ship them. In fact it's lowkey homophobic to assume that.
