does treasure have a chance to become a top 4th gen group?

  • Many people say that it's too late for treasure to become a top group due to yg's lack of comebacks. Others claim the group won't succeed because their songs aren't good.

What do you think though? Does treasure still stand a chance, can they surpass 4th gen boy groups like stray kids, txt, enhypen, the boyz, ateez?

    Approved the thread.
  • why they wouldn't?

As if all things were done and locked for the rest of their career.

They can still surpass any group in kpop, same goes for other groups.

  • Why not? Some groups need more time to succeed. Maybe Treasure is like this. They have talent and good personality to back them up too. Just need a better music direction and more comeback.

  • They might surpass the others. I highly doubt they are coming for sk, txt or enhypen

  • It's possible I think. But the future is hard to predict.

  • I can't see it happening is all

anything can happen, yes. It depends on the songs + management. They can't risk any scandal now. I think they have the talent to do so.

  • I have little to no doubts they will be much more successful than before from now on, and that they'll be remembered as a successful group. However, I don't think they'll surpass any of these groups. (maybe The Boyz but only if something extraordinary happens.) First of all, there's YG's management of the group. It's terrible, I don't think I need to elaborate further; who in their right mind lets a rookie group not come back for a year? There's no effort to put them out there. But this isn't the only issue. I, as a non-fan, don't see the appeal of Treasure. What is their concept? Boy-next-door but YG style? What is their music like? same as previously...they're decent songs but there doesn't seem to be a lot of thought put into their title tracks, they're just ok at best and awkward (looking at you MMM) at worst. What are their talents? I don't know because they hardly come back and those comebacks don't show a lot of them either!!! What are the members like? I can name like 3 of them let's begin here...Treasure feel closed off, you need to put more energy into getting into the group because YG is so exceptionally shit at managing them. Lastly: I think it might be an issue too that the niche they're supposed to occupy feels uncertain.

Now that you said this, I can't help but agree

  • getting deja vu with this thread in anons so I'll just simplify my answer from last time.

    Yes, anything is possible.

  • Maybe if people actually appreciate talent, they will be among the top. Some groups up there ate mediocre at best. Cant even sing without autotune.

  • There are far more talented groups than Treasure as well. It tells you that talent alone wont make a group extremely successful. Even those top groups in 3rd gen— are not the most talented. But it doesnt mean they are talentless— they simply have something out of a pool of talents that made them shine brighter than the rest. I think Treasure while talented doesnt have that “it” factor to be on top. But they can have a stable career as 2nd tier 4th gen boy group.

How could we know if they have the it factor or not when people don't give them a chance?

Also, they were inactive for music more than 1 year so nonfans only know their debut era. Not a lot things to know if a group will be really popular and among 1st tier or 2nd tier yet.

For me, at least, I think they have the it factor, just that they didn't have a lot opportunity to show themselves yet. 1 album isn't enough to show all from a group (because yes, despite having singles left and right, it's still only 10 songs total)

  • No. Their songs aren't palatable, outside of the immediate fandom; no one knows the members besides maybe Yedam (because of his solo project), YG is a shit company who won't even give their moneymakers a comeback so the hopes of having frequent comebacks like every group you mentioned is very slim. They don't really have a stand out member and attracts people.

  • Maybe they can surpass the boyz and ateez. Surpassing Top 3 is not impossible, but harder. They are far to catch up and all the three of them growing in fast pace. I wouldnt be surprise if they sell close to 2m in an album by the end of the year

  • This is true— for a group of 12 , u need to have 2 -3 stand outs or stan attractors. While they are talented, it’s hard for non-fans to like them. Maybe , if one of their songs go viral in this comeback & 2 stan attractors that will emerge, they will have a chance. The top 3 4th gen bg have at least one stan attractors. I’ll just mention at least one though some of them have more than one, Straykids- Hyunjin, Txt-Yeonjun, Enhypen- Heeseung.

  • if YG keeps acting the way they do... probably not.

there is so much potential though.

  • I think what Treasure lacks is individuality, they fall into the category of boy groups that do generic cool/dark concept music with an EDM drop/chorus. The top male groups right now BTS, Seventeen, NCT127/Dream, and Enhypen have pretty distinct production and music styles. NCT might be a little weird but I think that's what sets them apart. If I had to compare them to a group, they remind of The Boyz, their songs are alright but not incredibly memorable, but they're popular because people like the individual members and interactions.

I don't know the Treasure members well besides Bang Yedam, who by the way if he had a really good producer/songwriter behind him could be the next top r&b soloist, that man's voice is actually gold. But I think they have just as good of a chance as any other boy group. The fact that they're under YG and still haven't really shown much is saying something about their promotion and whoever is coordinating their image/sound. If I was them I would go more into hiphop (kinda like iKON) since that's what people expect from YG and no one is really doing that right now. But in reality, just having more promotions would help, they have a lot of international fans which can sustain them since touring is starting soon, but this is YG we're talking about so....

  • Do people even care about treasure currently? For a yg group they have much less relevance compared to the likes to ateez and txt who are much more well known and sell better. In kpop forums and twitter they’re barely ever talked about. NCT is their like for like competition and they destroyed treasure.

  • yes. the clowns in this thread will be embarrassed with the latest comeback

  • Treasure doesn't give me yg vibes. YG focuses too much on individuality and all treasure members look the same to me. Even their voices sound the same. They need to have more stan attractors.

  • Until it happens, ur the clown. It is better to wait until they are able to beat the 1st tier 4th Geb boy group for now - StrayKids, Txt, Enhypen. Physical sales, monthly listeners in spotify, streams in spotify at least or even in melon, followers in different social media platform- twitter, YT, instagram etc. Until then, they remain 2nd tier & their fans need to stop dragging other groups simply because they can’t beat them YET.

  • Nope. They are flopping too hard for a big 3 company

  • Skz were flops until 2020. People forget that.

  • Just like skz had nothing to brag about until 2020. Things can turn around for treasure too but maybe it won't

But you miss a few details here. Stray kids were still one of the biggest 4th gen groups (back then txt was leading but skz was still among the top). Their music is likeable, catchy and goes viral all the time so skz really had the chance to become big, they just needed the right push. While from what I see, majority of nonfans claim that they don't like treasure's music and as others said, if trsr wants to go big, they really need much better songs

  • Wheezing at the many insecure haters in this thread. Why make this thread 1 week before a comeback that fans have been waiting for more than 1 year. Are you scared of how treasure could do ? Even if they're not the best now who cares, it's been 1 year and a half since their debut. Their comeback has already 600k preorders after 8 days, who knows at how much they are now.

Why are you all so pressed that you feel the need to say they have 0 chance of becoming successful. The whole antis in this thread are pitiable.

Anyways, I'll take this thread as free promo for their upcoming comeback. Thansk OP for hating them so much you felt the need to make a thread just for the sake of dragging a group who has been on hiatus for a year ^^

You're actually very insecure. People are simply stating their opinion,I've rarely seen someone hate on them. Saying that treasure won't surpass the top groups isn't hate. Unclench a little and don't be so pressed, put that energy into something else ;-)

Skz used to dragged for their music too? People used to just consider it noise. But i do think skz even if they were flops were in a better position than treasure.

People who say treasure don't have neither sales, visuals, or variety skills is called hating. If you keep on saying this is not the case then you're lying.

Don't act as if you made this thread out without the intention of shading treasure right before their comeback.

The "I've rarely seen someone hating on them", you living on the moon or what.

And you should put your energy else where instaed of talking about treasure since you don't even like them. I do whatever I want without you telling me how to spend my time.
