    it was a speculation because the chaebol ( daughter of a very rich person ) in question commented something like “i miss you” on her post but today they did pilates together. posted each other on their instagram and all


    so wonyoung has no idol friends ( according to herself ) but hangs out with the granddaughter of the CEO of the one of the biggest korean conglomerates ( which is worth millions )


    i remember reading an anon about how she’d most likely end up with a golden spoon son and now i’m seeing it actually

    Actually, I was reading a while ago (can't remember where) about Wonyoung's family back ground and she's apparently, like a lot of idols these days, pretty well-off herself. So if she's close friends with Chaebols it's no surprise she has those connections.

    Apparently chaebol sons used to go to her Iz*one signings to give her gifts and envelopes of cash. She's not settling for a minor member of a mid-range group for sure. I think she'll bag an actor at the very least.

    my guess is she was at least lower upper class, she went to an english kindergarten and lived at an expensive neighborhood known for expensive real estate. she also never took public transports in her life and asked fans if public buses have seatbelts LOL

    good for them, i’m not saying they’re flops but they’re a fanbase driven group that’s not very popular in korea

    idols in general are considered not very high on the social scale unless they’re S listers ( GD, Suzy, Jennie… ) now imagine a boy group that barely charts in the country. NCT sell 2M albums but are nowhere near S or A list in Korea. sales don’t determine your popularity

    interesting how did she get to know such people? i know her parents are kinda wealthy but i doubt the rich kids' social circles consist of just anyone, especially when idols traditionally aren't very high on the social pyramid. don't get me wrong though, she's very sweet and i love her, i'm just surprised how two people from two such different fields can get to know each other.

    While I agree with your general perspective, that people aren't limited by their levels - it is also true that there are many varieties of 'levels' - not merely popularity or wealth.

    For example, IU & Kiha - if serious about music, Kiha was a major artist in non-kpop world, has won the KMA triple - song, album, artist. It is only Kpoppies who would think he is a lightweight.

    IU seems to be very much into music, beyond just performance/popularity etc., well connected to "behind the scenes" masters, so Kiha fits the profile.

    Nugu boy group stans mad lol. It's obvious wonyoung doesn't mingle with too many idols except her own group.

    Everyone knows Wonyoung is Korean, but being Chinese doesn't have to mean nationality. There are actually a large number of ethnic chinese Koreans living in Korea, or descendants, but they don't broad cast their background because of the discrimination they face.


    Even though it's just a rumor, Knetz are very good at gathering things so I wouldn't be surprised if it's all true.


    Plus, Mnet registering Wonyoung under a chinese name then quickly editing it later doesn't seem like a typical error for a company like them to make.


    Either way, she hasn't come forward and denied nor confirmed anything regarding her back ground so it's impossible to make any absolute statements.

    Jennie hangs out with anyone from top celebs ( Dua Lipa , Bella Hadid ) to mid tier idols ( Doyeon who she even posted on her IG )


    What got people thinking here is that Wonyoung doesn’t hang out with idols at all as she said it herself, hence wondering if she would even date one

There is a lot of social pressure placed by the family that their sons would marry someone worthy of them and idols aren't viewed very highly in korean society. She might date top idols or actors but I can't think of one instance where a chaebol dated an idol. Korea is all about social standing and while it is getting better, it's not as good as people think. Being friends with a chaebol and dating one are two very different things. Also, wonyoung was huge in izone but unless ive gets really big, she better snag that rich idol/actor fast since she doesn't have much time. This is assuming that she doesn't have family connections or money.

    If she dates a chaebol fine, if she doesn’t fine. You can’t dictate what the she thinks because you are not capable of that in real life, you are using your idol as a way to live your fantasy . Just si you know being in a chaebol family is 60-70% pain rather than joy , the joy only coming from the money side. Chaebols do whatever they like . Pls stop , I have seen this behaviour from Karina and Wonyoung fans thinking their idols are beginning and the end when you don’t know anything about the industry at all. The true personalities of your idols affect their friendship dynamics
