Would a kpop group in survive western survival shows ?

Considering most western survival show auditions are pretty rigged they'd have to get past that first. They gotta have an extra good motivational sob story planned out

If they had a REALLY good sob story that hits really hard to viewer's hearts like they're all orphans and one overcame cancer while the other is missing a kidney and the other's long lost sister died in her arms.

the two industries a VERY different so it strongly depends on the idol tbh.

kpop is more performance focused - as long as you're a decent dancer with good visuals you're in

western industry in general focuses more on vocals aka they can have the worst stage presence ever but if they're hitting them notes people are going to eat it up

this leads to my second point - if you send someone like wendy, jihyo or rosé (aka good vocalists) they'll definitely survive. if you send an idol whose whole career consists of being a background dancer lip-syncing their 3 sec lines, they stand no chance🤷‍♀️

It depends what the survival show is based on, if it's based on raw vocal talent then the kpoppers are at a disadvantage, but if the show is based on overall performance, including dance, then I think the kpop starts would win if things were being judged objectively

yeah for western shows you'd need genuine vocal skills

Sounds interesting? can you give more insight? how did they made it to xfactor? i never watched the show but would like to know what the criteria was?

Y'all act like people who participate in western survival shows are all outstanding singers when many of them aren't any better. it's just that kpop is more about the total package, and visual charisma and dancing matters more but many main and lead vocals in kpop would still have the talent to survive. many american groups don't have outstanding singers, it's not exclusive to kpop groups

Some of you overrate western survival shows lol. The main part isn't talent, it's your story. If you have a good sob story, people will pour their support for you.

Unfortuently, most kpop idol's don't have a sob story(atleast one that would please western viewers) so they would be at a disadvantage.
