Overall I like both versions, but the vocal processing on both really knocks them down quite a lot for me. Like it'd be the standout group song from that album if not for that.

best BTS song since War of Hormone.. i wasn`t super into it at first, but the MV totally changed it for me it was simple but it pictured the vibe perfectly

I don't mind vocal processing on orchestral version because instrumentals take the precedence on that one.

I can understand your point though. I think they were trying something with MOTS7 hence the album altogether had more autotune than required imo. I listen to alot of hip hop, dance pop, disco pop, etc. so I am kinda used to autotune that's why I don't mind it as much. I can also understand why kpop fans might find it irritating because I have not seen many in kpop experiment with vocals so kpop fans are used to hearing raw vocals.

This version was released as a pre release. I describe this version as the one where BTS don't want to experience the feeling of losing the passion for the music while the other one which has more western vibe with trap is where BTS are experiencing that first hand. You can see this in choreo of both BTS & MN Dance company as well. That guy is trying to run away from the shadows doing choreo while BTS version choreo is more like grief where they are becoming part of the shadows. It is visible in both the MVs as well.
