Mine did but it was after I graduated
Americans, did your school ever get shot up?

My school has received threats tho regarding the issue
We also were on the news because of the amount of fights that we had in the beginning of this year…
Also because students hit the principal in a fight
-
The fact that it’s even (valid) question shows how fucked the idea of freely available guns and gun culture is.
-
If it did it was before I ever went. A school near me was very close to having a mass shooting but was thankfully stopped
-
No.
Back when I worked at my local mall, a shooting happened during my shift... that was the first and only time I experienced something like that.
ooh, a shooting happened too at a place It was a little far and I never heard about it before the whole shooting incident but still. I believe it was local news.
-

I am really sorry to hear that.
I hope though that no one got hurt.
But if some did, my condolences go for their family and friends.

some students need to calm the tf down. After reading all your comments I feel like a spoiled brat for complaining about the littlest things about my schoo..
I will never complain about the boys in my school and my crush being extremely annoying again.

They really do…
But usually this occurs because either schools don’t take these threats seriously or these kids are not given the proper care that they need.
And hey, no need to feel bad. Honestly, it is really sad to say how common this problem is in our country:(
-
no but there were threats..
I remember this thing that happened a while ago about a guy from tiktok threatning to shoot schools up and the schools had police around(there were no police except for the police guy that was always there at my school). I do remember my friends family trying to keep them from going to school.
-
Nah my school didn't meet the demographic for it. We did have a few kids we all kinda thought would shoot up the school though

Yeah..
Didn’t that occur just recently tho?
I remember we had security a while ago due to that threat

though mine did have the highest pregnancy rate in the state of arizona at the time... dumb ass tramps
That reminds me of a teacher talking to my mom about how my class was the first one in a decade to not have a pregnancy. It was in middle school

Damn just when you think it couldn’t get worse
-
No... but when I was a sophomore or a senior (I honestly don't remember which, but I remember the classroom I was in and I only had that teacher in those two years) we got put on lockdown for like 3 hours because someone claimed they brought a gun to school and the police got called. It turned out to be one of those airsoft guns and he just pained the orange safety parts.
-
Where the heck in the U.S do you guys live??? Our school has been very safe, the most dangerous thing was a bank robbery, miles away from our school.
there was a bank robbery near my school in elementary school as well. but it was near and we went into lockdown until the end of the day.
to answer OP's question: no, but there was someone threatening to in a school downtown in the city i live in.
-
I can't imagine being on a country where something like that would happen as almost a casual ocurrence, I hope y'all are safe, guns should be a lot more restricted on the US to feel safer and potentially avoid these kind of things happening. I don't think there is anything "free" about having a gun on the current world we live in, it's just dangerous.

well there are people trying to make restrictions on gun laws but because of the process and divided opinions in the country its really hard to really pass anything

Yeah, and I can imagine a lot of interests being on the way, companies who make guns and even shops, once you have a created a "gun culture" for so many years, it can be very hard to make such change, specially on a country where private companies have so much power.

No incidents. I parked my PickUp Truck in the HS's Parking lot with Shot Gun and Bolt Action Rifle. Law requires to have them in plane view so a Window Rifle Rack was a good option. It was something to go target plinking after school. School in California no less. Doubt can do it now because of School Gun Free Zones.
Made Paper Balls and thrown them into the air before we got a portable clay pigeon thrower. Shoot stuff hundreds of Yards away is a blast.
16 years old and loaded for Bear. XD

In middle school there were 2 incidents.
One was where a student called in with a bomb threat, but turned out to be just a prank to get out of state testing but SWAT was there with dogs and we had to be escorted urgently out of range.
Second was a Father of a student came into the building with his gun in his pockets and it fell out so we were in lock down until police came to apprehend him. He didn't mean harm but still had to be a precaution.

ooh yes. Wait, how do you know, do you live in Illinois?
-
So do you guys all have emergency trainings in schools in case there is a shooting ?
I can't even imagine something like this...it's so sad...
the worst thing we had to worry about at our school was whether the cafeteria food would be edible...
-
ooh yes. Wait, how do you know, do you live in Illinois?
If I remember, that tiktok referred to schools all around the country...
And yes, I do
-
My school had a false call in so we went into lockdown. School near by also had a April fools bomb threat
-
No, but when I was in high school, a kid killed his nanny across the street from the school, and when I was in college, a girl's ex-boyfriend threatened to come to the campus and kill her, so the school got shut down. Scary af. I'm glad I'm out of school now. Even with those occasions, I don't think "my kid could be murdered at school today" was ever a real concern for my parents the way it is for current parents of young kids.
