So we've all agreed that generations are bullshit.

Didn't 4th gen start in 2017? So it would make sense that a new gen is coming.

Depends on who you ask. There are some saying it didn't start until 2019 and I've seen some say it should count from 2020 because debuting in the COVID era is the "industry shift" similar to the resurrection of the physical market marking the beginning of the 3rd gen.
Covid lasting more than this new generations at this point
The only generation that matters is girls generation
4th gen just started and we're already in 5th gen? I like the idea of categorizing groups by the generation they most align with. (ex. Sugar, who debuted in 2002, align more with late 1st gen while TVXQ, who debuted in 2003, are associated and were most popular in the 2nd generation. Where groups like Wanted & Paran stand, I don't know. 1.5th gen, maybe?)

I have a complaint with this chart. Why are groups that debuted in 1998-2000 (decidedly 1st gen) in 1.5th gen? No one is going to argue that Shinhwa or 1TYM aren't 1st gen!! My instinct says 2001 debuts till about 2006 are 1.5th gen (with some exceptions!!! So don't yell at me like "u think Brown Eyed Girls are 1.5th gen?!?!?!"). The years 2001-2003 are most definitely 1st gen aligned, though.

I don't think any of them can come into agreement about what is considered 4th gen according to that article bp and nct are 4th generation lol

overall that 'halfs' don't matter that much like full gen
dunno maybe for example they've tagged Shinhwa as 1.5 gen because H.O.T. was 1st gen and they were both from SM?
usually this list would be more flat without 'normies' discussing half-gens, I guess the Koreans which created this list made more detailed info

the fifth will last like 6 months and the 7th will last 1 month etc etc
Chile I don’t know about you but all those groups debuting next year are still 4th gen in my book because wtf
