just because big4 companies want to debut groups faster than light it doesn't mean a new generation will begin. We are 2/3 years into the 4th one so no matter what they say, there are still many years until we enter a 5th gen. I do believe that the upcoming groups will bring the peak and the blow up of the 4th gen though

generations are fluid/flexible
I once read on one of Korean forums that after some years
they would add something like 3.5, or 4.5
so now they are talking that's already 5th generation but after some time it might change
