Korean would be thinking if this song is winning at the international (non Korean) award shows over international songs and superstars, how it is not winning at Korean ones? The judges are there specifically for rating songs on things other than domestic charts, considering points are already awarded for that.
If anyone is stupid enough to think the judges aren't going to give the max points to a song that spent multiple weeks at billboard number 1 and is still inside the hot 100 and did well almost everywhere in the world, Korea included, they are in for a huge disappointment.

This. If we go by points, then celebrity has 220M more than NL. Also difference between butter and NL is much smaller (40 M or something) and unlikely to increase as BTS are still promoting butter in big shows like AMAs.
As for the critics and professionals, we know BTS are industry darlings. Voting and other criterias are also dominated by BTS.

The awards are for Korean acts, not necessarily Korean songs. If IU released an English song and it smashed the charts, it’ll still be nominated for award shows. BTS are just a rare case because English tracks by kpop acts usually don’t do good enough in korea to even be nominated for awards
Rosé English track also got nominated because of great chart performance so I think the award shows don’t draw the criteria at just korean songs
