The criteria: 80% 2021mama.com votes + 10% social media votes + 10% streaming on global music streaming platform.
Here is why I find the criteria ridiculous:
An award specially a whole daesang being worth it 100% in fan voting is already a clownery, like how you eliminate fan voting for categories such as best new artist and best collab but you keep it for a DAESANG and with that title...
Out of all the daesangs in my opinion that one should be the last one to have fan voting because that literally doesn’t represent anything the award title is approaching. The title of worldwide icon is literally the one that is shining worldwide, the only way to measure that is with stats such as total sales, streams, chart performance on international charts, etc not with fandom votes.
Fandom votes do not represent how big a fandom neither how big an artist is internationally that’s my point, it sure gives an idea but easily a big ass fandom can not be voting or not voting as hard as they often do for many reasons.
The criteria should be 100% on judges that will obviously look at the global impact or 100% base on global stats or a combination of both, global stats being worth it more of course.
The likely winner will be BTS because it seems armys are voting base in the ranking. I don’t want to imagine how it would be if they don’t.
Other contenders are:
-LISA because of the massive of her debut overall with MONEY and all the records.
-Stray Kids with their big YouTube and Spotify streams growth plus their sales.
-Rosé also had an amazing debut and an amazing international performance.
