It's smart to release content. That's all. It doesn't need to be related to anything else.
But YG's way of managing Blackpink can't last forever. I'm sure the other companies know it and are trying to take their fanbase. And I understand why 4th gen fans deny it because they don't want to think that the concepts and songs they love are aimed at winning over another fanbase, but of course that's part of what's happening. These companies aren't newborns, they know what they're doing.
