Dance is why most are kpop fans

It isn't for me, I prefer vocals, always have. This fancy footwork might be fine, but I would rather hear a talented voice.

This is the truth

International fans like to say otherwise, but to me is clear that the most important aspect in KPOP is the parasocial relationships and in some cases people living vicariously through successful people. This is what motivates people to do things like bulk buy albums, and make streaming parties
It's not surprise many of these also claim to suffer from ADHD or other mental conditions and say things like how some someone is his "comfort idol"
-
for me it's a combination of many things not only dancing. I would say it was the aesthetics for me at least at first.
-
The group that first got me interested in kpop was Big Bang so... um, nope. :D
I do agree with the rest of what you said that the choreo and performance factor is what sets it apart for most fans. I would also say that a lot of fans are attracted for non-musical/performance reasons like the extra content, the parasocial relationships, the fan community, and the crafted images and backstories of the idol groups.

i got into kpop thru bigbang so

LOL I just responded to the OP with the same exact sentiment before reading your post :D

It’s not about the difficulty of the choreography. Bigbang are very quintessentially kpop.
But BB doesn't dance any better or any more in their performances than western pop artists. Like TOP barely moves at all. Nobody watches BB for their choreo. BB performs much closer to western style than the typical kpop group.

I think it was more of the music and vocals but yeah, the choreographies and dancing is probably what got me hooked.

They have dance practice they have easy to remember choreo. In fact that bang3 choreo is one of the most iconic and memorable choreo of both BB and kpop. So iconic people stil perform it on tiktok.
The bang3 dance practice in fact has 130milliom views. One of the most viewed dance practices. So I definitely think a lot of ppl enjoy BB’s choreo and it’s a big part of their charm.
Again it’s not about the difficult. YG has always been about the memorable choreo. Look at BP all their choreo go viral but when they come out everyone in kpop forums shits on it or calls it basic and easy. But the goal was never to have complicated choreo.
-
BB’s simple Bang3 choreo was the most viral and most viewed dance practice of kpop. For a long time.
Just because their choreo isn’t hard doesn’t mean their dance weren’t viral. They were and are still hella viral. And their simple and easy to imitate choreo was a big part of their charm.

People perform it on tiktok? That's hilarious. I guess it shouldn't surprise me. Bangx3 is included in the Just Dance game series. It's literally the only dance of theirs that I can remember though lol. (Per their Weekly Idol appearance, that one is one of the only dances they fully remember too :D) Anyway, maybe some people did fall in love with BB partly do to their dancing. For me personally though, when I got into kpop, I liked that BB was different from most idol groups in that they didn't do a lot of their choreo. At least they didn't for concerts and awards shows. They performed more how I was used to western acts performing. Same with Winner. I didn't actually get into choreo until I started liking EXO.

This is the truth

yeah for most people esp those who have got into kpop recently, but not for me tho i have got into kpop through Bigbang Haru Haru, in the mv there wasnt any dance, i loved it cus it was catchy song and i loved the vocals, rap , and more importantly they could deliver the song (which most of kpop groups fail to do) and the mv is very sad and i have cried at the time.

people watch BigBang dance practice just to see TOP lol, cus man just stands and dont move at all, it just funny. YG has never been dance focused from the beginning, they more into self producing, swag and rap. They have the more western vibe and style rather than kpop vibe, only Treasure is their most typical kpop group. For BigBang, its not about dance, they got gp attention cus they have broke the whole"idol" stereotype and have music for wider demographic than other kpop group who are targeted for mostly teens and youths.
