I was bitten by a dog twice just walking down a street and once sitting at a bus stop, reading.
I'm terrified of them at this point and quickly cross the street the moment I see one.

As someone who had both, I'd say cats are easier to take care of and 'cuter' but dogs are much more fun to have around and the bond between the owner and their dog is going to be more special.
My answer is obvious - dogs.
Shiba Inus are a favourite of many dog lovers (mine as well)
Cats, they have more individuality and I like how chill they are to be around. I like dogs but find them overwhelming besides my dog that died who had more of a cat-like personality, I prefer being around one for maybe 30 minutes and thats it
cats I'm a low energy person. Dogs need a lot of care and exercise which I'm too exhausted to give. Some dogs are calm but they need attention and lots of love. Cats do aswell but for most part they do their own thing.
i'm scared of dogs. one bit my mom for no reason, she was walking, minding her own business. we also have three stray dogs that are often near my bus stop, they are barking and scaring people, acting like it's their territory. when i see them i have to take a different, longer route to get home, i don't want to risk getting bitten.
regardless of that, i LOVE cats and they like me. sadly, i never had one, but one day i'll change that

Cats.
I have been having cats all my life. Still have 2 atm.
It's a family love thing
Cats. I’ve had mine since I was a kid and even as seniors they’re still my fluffy little babies.
Although I will say having a fluffy white cat when most of your wardrobe is black is a challenge lol.
Cats..even tho I've only ever owned a dog..
cats, but im often compared to having the personality of a golden retriever lol
Dogs are super cute but I prefer cats
I am allergic to both, but toward cats, it is much worse. Our family used to have a dog once I was a kid. So I choose dogs.
