You don’t get sasaengs in the first place, you get bank, you don’t have to carry the group, and since the group is very popular, popularity is kinda relative. Even being the most unpopular member of that popular group, means you still have popularity more than others under the system so it’s not exactly a loss.

It’s only working for you as long as the Group exist, but the moment they disband or are on a very long hiatus, you’re jobless… also your solo projects might not be that successful… unless your in a Group like BP where all members are supper successful on their own, being the least popular in the Group won’t affect your solo project that much.

So I would choose popular member of an unpopular Group.

If your group is popular enough, it doesn't matter whether you're the most unpopular member or not. You still get great recognition and money. Just look at the top groups like bts, BP, Twice and exo. Pretty sure it's better being a random member of those than say the most popular member in a nugu group.

As an unpopular member of a popular group I'd be still popular, I would still get money and opportunities, but I wouldn't feel pressured as the face of the group
