The music is my priority. The idols will leave one day or another and that will be the end of the journey. However their discography will remain, that's why it's the most important for me.

Well, I wouldn't be a fan of my faves If they were themselves with a boring discography, neither If they had the same discography with members that I couldn't connect with, so...

I like a lot of groups for a lot of good music.

But the groups I choose to "stan" are based off members.

I don't stan any group just based on music with no members I like.
And I won't stan a group if I like the members but I don't like the music.

With one exception. Dreamcatcher is the only group I stan purely based on music and talent. Not that the members aren't interesting, they're all crackheads but I just don't have interest in any member in particular. I can't explain why they are the exception, it probably has something to do with just how unique of a group is and how consistent their quality of releases are. They're the only group I feel are "all hits no misses"

I like both but in order for me to be a fan of the group then it has to be the idols themselves

Definitely a music fan. I like idols, even have favorites. But at the end of the day, I'm invested in them as artists, not as people. Because what we see of them is just a sliver of who they are, so I don't feel I could like them just for their personas. Honestly, I feel this way with any artists I like, in any medium.
