An interesting concept.
The first week sales would be so different.
What is your take on this?

I would lose a lot of the hype I have for my favorite releases. I would also lose the security I have that my pre-order is in and I will be getting the albums and versions that I wanted. If I had to wait until release day to purchase, then there's a greater chance that the albums go out of stock and I can't get them when I want to.
So it would be a lose-lose for me.
I think it'd also be bad for companies. If they have enough of a pre-order window and see that sales are larger than they expected, they can adjust to produce and ship more albums.

this is really interesting. i can see some hardcore fans/stans possible scenarios:
places where you can't buy in offline store:
- website or stores could crash on day 1, depending on demand. it would really suck for if there are no adequate stocks.
places where you can buy in offline store:
- long lines to buy albums. (I have no energy to line up go to store on day 1.
)music shows- physical points will not be concentrated on week 1???

in which case I would say that overall there would be less sales since a few people might after hearing the song might be turned off by it...
