    Interesting take.

    I love Pikachu.

    Always have, Always will.

    "Pika-Pi"

  • kinda agree. I feel like listening to music has become a job for someone. "I have to replay oppas song 1973652810254901 times so he can chart. And then i have to listen to oppas other songs 10373516181001725 times so that they can chart too"

  • a person is free to do whatever he or she likes with the resources that he or she has at her disposal...

if that's streaming a lot then so be it...

    laissez-faire i say

  • I mean not, but at the same time I understand why someone would feel this way since the debates are more about streaming rather than the song itself, when we don't focus on this debate the perception changes, however it's much easier said than done

  • It's 100% true. Look at how kpop was back in the medieval days 1st gen and 2nd gen and look at it now, with the rise of technology, now streaming and getting a MV to 100 million views is so easy, nobody needs to work hard now, all companies need to do is build a loyal fan base that will see their fave group's achievements as their own, a perfect parasocial relationship, fan will stream, bulk buy, do whatever for their group, so the quality of the music or album does not matter anymore, achievements, charts, and sales do. Back in the old days, fans could listen to a song over and over again, that was because they LIKED it, nobody knew about STREAMING, it was just gee gee gee gee baby baby. Now everyone's posting about charts, streaming party's, getting number 1, it's so boring and I do blame streaming culture for how 4th gen has turned out musically.

  • I feel bad for people who feel like they need to stream so it almost becomes like a job. IF they feel like that. I think there is joy in it for some people, and a level of excitement as they feel they are working towards a collective goal.

I’ve always replayed new albums to death if I love them because of excitement about the new music and trying to know it inside out.

But, if it started feeling like a responsibility for me, instead of a blessed release from the rest of the stresses of the world, I know that wouldn’t be for me personally.

I really don’t think it is ruining music though. It’s just… the music is still the music. That is my priority and the thing I take joy in. Each album or song stands on its own for what I can get out of it. I couldn’t really give a toss about the charting or numbers. I don’t think the streaming thing affects the quality of music that is put out generally… so it doesn’t really matter if other people feel the need to stream and stream for chart success.
