it's not unusual but for someone with that high a profile...and she's married to another fairly well know and high profile celebrity as well and even he didn't talk a single word about what happened...
it would be the equivelent of someone like adele in the UK or ariana in the US to pop! and disappear lol what was funny was when she was being questioned (not disappeared yet) dozens and probably hundreds of Chinese celebrities suddenly came out of the woodworks and paid extra (back) taxes...lol
it's one of the disadvantages (or advantages) of being a communist government - they can make people disappear lol

long story short
she was a top top celeb think adele/ariana/iu like and she got caught up in a tax evasion controversy and when the chinese gov went into her finances to investigate she was questioned/detained/jailed/house arrest/whatever (we still don't really know) but basically disappeared from public view for like 6 months or so...
every chinese knew the gov had her and used her to make an example of tax dodging celebrities...lol

some countries require 30/40/50% of your income to go to the gov so if you are earning enough then it incentives tax avoidance (legal) or tax evasion (illegal)

3. Even if he won't be jailed get probation, or some money fine then... his bank accounts probably are already on 0 because CCP always has control over money if it's located in Chinese bank. They did it many times to rich billionaires aka tycoons who fled the country, sometimes even preparing some 'papers' to block money located in foreign banks.
4. Ok now if we cancel all 3 previous points, we are in a place that we learn that he will probably be only able to find a work in some cargo magazine, port, or in remote village as farmer. No one 'normal' will give him a well-paid job.
I thought the whole business betwen SM and Kris was done with already years ago, since China doesn't really care about contracts and agreements, made in other countries?

I don't think that people really want communism, it's more that they want social equality/socialism in their democracies and less hypercapitalism.
Although maybe it depends on someone's defition of communism, to many conservative/Republican Americans, most western democracies are already 'communist', since they all have universal healthcare which is such a 'communism' thing to do and to want 
The issue with China is more the authoritarian component of its system, like many authoritarian regimes in the past and modern days, the privileged at the top can do whatever they like without repercussions, even brutalities, since there's no judicial system in place that can monitor and correct them when needed.

By the looks of it he isn’t though. But if they can’t prove anything I hope they let him walk. But by now the authorities can only loose face if he’s not convicted so he’s probably toast.
