So many groups on bb200 but hot100 is something so difficult. I really wonder how a group can hit top20 on bb200 but can't even touch bubbling under. Do their fans not try to buy on iTunes or stream? Downloads are much cheaper than albums after all.

I can agree with that - I do think they should solidify their base in SK first before going full english.

Given Itzy recently put out their english album - what do you see as the biggest difference between the two since they are both from big3 and have the resources to give them the push

Maybe someone should make a list of bubbling under so that we can have an educated guess on which other idol groups can probably chart on BBHot100

I'm not sure how much is ITZY doing with there album but I dont think it was a great decision to put out English album I don't/haven't seen hype around it

I can see that they went on one GMA talk show and they have an MTV Fresh something coming out soon...so they're getting some push

Personally as of right now I prefer Aespa's members to Itzy's but I prefer Itzy's music to BM - but then again Aespa hve only released one song.

do you think with the right push by BBC or LSM (if he's serious about Loona) they csn hit it big in the US? do they have sufficient English speakers

I haven't heard anything beyond their last two comebacks and they were both a nope for me but if what you are saying is true then the radio play is a big deal as well as bb 200

I have no idea about that group. I am only shocked by how they are so popular in US.

Checked their songs not my cup of tea. So I really can't tell but they are literally the most near to charting in hot100 along with TXT from 4th gen groups.

What I wonder is I think SKZ has big fanbase in US. And their songs are even friendly to nonkpoppers. Their streaming is strong. But haven't hit BB200 yet which is confusing. JYP better should sell their albums in US local stores.

This is so true. I never really thought about it this way. Maybe only sales aren’t enough to push into hot100. I’ve noticed that except PSY and older acts who debuted on the hot100 before audio streaming became a thing, the songs that are actually able to debut on Spotify US top 200, are more likely to chart

They have all this but Loona success seems very fake/inflated to me they dont really make a impact album sale wise or single wise.

I never said that I dont think they have a strong fanbase.

Their songs and album peak high on itunes at the start then fall alot , they have weak spotify streams also in US.

So yeah the radio situation is interesting.

but the fact thar star is getting so much airplay in the us definitely shows a shift. plus loona is already kind of a part of pop culture in the us, which is a start.

id also like to add the fact that even though there is no english speaker among them, they're getting many interviews on us radio. last december they even performed on kiis fm, which made them one of the only kpop group to achieve this along with bts and the wondergirls.

Not really true because there sales dont reflect that.

Hobi and Yoongi charting on the Hot 100 is sexy considering both of their entries were also surprise releases.
