Making an opinionated thread often carries with it a connotation of self-righteousness, especially if bop-flop-blop and other general discussion threads about a song have already been created. By "connotation," I'm just speaking from many users' perspective, not my own.
I tend not to mind such threads at all, but fandoms will get jumpy given prior experiences with antis and malicious trolls. Unfortunately, users who simply wish to express an opinion will get categorized into that group of antis and trolls as well, even if they're simply giving an unpopular opinion without any other intention.
As such, it's preferable to post your opinions about a song right in a general discussion thread, such as a bop-flop-blop thread.
I think to solve this issue, new releases should have a general review thread where everyone can put their reviews and think pieces. When it's a bunch of separate threads as seen today, it devolves into trolling and bashing. While I do think making legitimate criticisms is a good thing, let's not kid ourselves that that's the only thing going on
Also it just clogs up the forum and is generally annoying for those of us who frankly just don't care that much to see the same topics on the same song with the same replies all over the forum. Especially when, as I said, the majority of it seems to be trolling

Those general review threads always exist in the form of bop-flop-blop threads. We are more than welcome to discuss the song and express our honest opinions respectfully there. I’ve seen both praise and criticism in such threads. As long as we’re respectful and not just bashing, it should be safe to proceed.

The idea of making dedicated threads that force discussion to a single location. (Assuming it's enforced as the only place to post the topic)
There's a tendency to want to do this.
To keep everything in a "particular place".
A thread for "unpopular opinions".
A thread for "reviews"
A thread for this. A thread for that.
In my opinion it tends to shut things away in a 30+ mega threads that's unwieldy and so stuffed any one post is lost in mass of replies.
It's way to hide away content, in some respects.
I realize the risk of lots of similar threads on the other hand. And lots of threads can get messy and risk trolling.
But on principle I'm always for more freedom. And tend to be against efforts to limit where people can discuss things.
(Again this is assuming that posts are forced into the mega thread and not optional).

Users should have the right to make a thread about their opinion if they want
And shouldn't be force to just fit their opinion in a general review thread
They can if they want but if they don't want they have the right to make their own thread

honestly, I'd rather see a dozen review threads discussing the same song than the many many achievements threads clogging up the kpop section. At least the review threads are talking about the music. Can we shuttle the numbers talk somewhere else?

Agreed, they should make a numbers section for people who actually want to see it
I don't mind seeing it sometimes if I'm interested but the amount of threads made a day over numbers and achievements is ridiculous 
I'm here for the music and personalities, not album sales and streams

it's not about the threads per se it's the interpretation of things that aren't even related to music...
I've always said communication is hard online especially when the entirety is in english and lots of people don't speak english as a first or native language not to mention all the non-verbal communication that is lost...thus we mere interpret based on what we believe the written words to mean...
therefore because like anything that is based on interpretation things can get misconstrued, taken out of context, misunderstood etc etc
for a truly engaging and deeper discussion one should be asking questions simply as why? why do you form that opinion? what is your basis for having that opinion etc etc then you can truly begin to understand why a person holds such an opinion...
