Na, I was always smart. Ok that is a lie, I did have an f in 3rd grade.

No. I don't think we have that in compulsory education here unless there's some very extenuating circumstances. One of our teachers said he once had a kid repeat a year because he was in a car crash and in a coma for half a year.

Higher education it's more common but considering you're now paying for your education youre just wasting money if you fail and repeat.

When I shifted from England to India, my school made me repeat a class bc I was 4 days younger than the age limit according to my country's school rules.

And when my parents protested that I was smart enough to skip a class, they said I didn't have enough language skills in any Indian language to move forward. Fuck them.
