How did you learn about KPOP?

Always seen BTS and Blackpink lurking around, never checked them out until end of August-September ish lol.

You mean like which group got is into kpop or how we got into kpop?

If it's the former it's SNSD Gee

The latter, I basically got rickrolled into watching Gee while gaming lol

Back in time, when Gangnam Style used to be huge, Youtube recommended me Girls Generation's The Boys and I enjoyed the song and listened it on my own a couple of times. Didn't associate the song with a genre at that time. However, I knew a girl irl who was a K-pop fan.

A few years forward, I knew someone who was a BTS fan but I didn't know about K-pop or what that was exactly.

Then I saw K/DA's first MV and reading the comments, everyone mentioned K-pop. I didn't go further into the topic at that time.

I'm not sure if it's because of K/DA's video being played, but the Youtube recommendations started inserting BlackPink and a little of Mamamoo into my playlist, and that's when I started listening to K-pop more.

Then, with a little more research on my part, I found out more groups, music etc. and here I am.

I was into k-dramas and some of the lead actors were also idols, so when I wanted to expand my consumption of Korean entertainment, it was the next ntural step.

I was looking at Tumblr's top ships of the year and I remember seeing Jikook there but not knowing anything about BTS or even K-Pop but I thought "Huh, let's ruin my life with another thing to get into" so then I started watching videos of them messing around and funny moments like that and then after a couple of weeks I tried listening to their music and I thought it was pretty decent so that's my K-Pop origin story

OK BUT I go into Korean Music from Epik High after a friend showed me their song Love Love Love back in 2007.

But I was a major Maplestory player back then too and used to watch fan music videos and the most popular one was Lies LOL sooooo I got into with Big Bang Lies and it lead me to Wonder Girls Irony and Tell Me.
