Didn't anyone find it strange that a whole bunch of bullying scandals appeared at the exact same time?

  • A whole load of idols got accused at the same time, this shows clear co-ordination between parties bringing this all up. Didn't this seem strange to people. If there are bullying rumours they would come and go over time surely, not just all appear like a giant turd dropping on K-Pop.

WHY YOU SHOULDN'T HATE ON IDOLS

    1. They are young people trying their best in a competitive industry.

    2. You don't know what other pressures they are under, company mistreatment, diet, lack of success, not earning, long hard hours, family problems etc.

    3. They have worked for years towards a dream to entertain us and offer it up pretty much free if you factor in streaming, Youtube MVs, reality shows.

    4. We all know what can happen in extreme cases, mental health problems and even suicide (Sulli)

  • I guess the 'the victims were encouraged to step forward with the initial scandal involving volleyball players actually having consequences' narrative makes sense to some extent, but I also think some people were trying to take advantage of this whole situation...

Apparently it was something about Naver deleting some posts, there was actually a thread on this here. I can try and find it.

    • Official Post

There are times when something big coming to light can lead people to also speak out about their own experiences, but it can also lead to people using the wave of public support for the people making these allegations just to hurt someone.

yes, I agree, as some people start to make noise about certain issues, there are definitely people who would profiteer off of it.

just like how protests invariably have looters embedded with the ranks. No one wanted them there and yet there they are.

  • There was a pretty big bullying scandal in Korea involving 2 athlete siblings and that basically opened the door for more bullying stories to come out. Think of it as a “me too” kinda moment but with bullying. At least that is what Koreans have been saying from what I’ve seen.

  • I always find this argument stupid when its a crime with victims who are embarrassed about it. Its the same reason when the #MeToo movement happened, literally tons of people came out and talked about being sexually harassed/assaulted.

When one person is brave enough to share their story, it makes it more likely for others to come out and share. So kpop has alot of bullying allegations come out at the same time, because one person started it, and other victims felt like they could share their story next.

Its VERY common and not suspicious or mean its coordinated.

  • These kind of things always start Naturally, a positive response from the Public to a Victim of something makes others feel safe to also share their experiences on the same thing.

Anger and Outrage builds Momentum within the Community for some form of Justice, and then the Bad Actors jump on to take advantage sensing an opportunity to personally profit either Monetarily or by raising their social standing (sometimes purely vindictively to punish someone they don't like)
