idk y'all but there's 100% something fishy with gfriend

gfriend was a succesful group with moderate success, it was enough to maintain a company and members had good reputation, for the last 6 years they have good album sells for a mid-level girl group; they had decent amount of awards too.

considering members are still very young with the average age of 23, it can't be said that "they now want to do something different with their life" considering some idols starts their career when they're 23, 24 years old

in their goodbye letters, none of them promised a proper plan about what they will be doing after their group, usually they announce things like "anticipate my solo" or promote their upcoming acting schedule. members sounded totally lost

their last song was not a flop and it was still in the spotlight, i never see succesful groups disbanding like this, it was only sistar who disbanded while they could continue producing bops and hits but they stated they had other plans, meanwhile gfriend stated nothing?

what about umji deleting pics with hybe from her instagram account right after leaving?

when a group disbands even if its very sudden like with pristin or expected like 2ne1 atleast few members stay in their company, even if they disappear from public eye after that, no one stayed in source music?

also many employees left source music too, so this is not just about members too

    what do you think?

    • Official Post

What are the chances of Lil Uzi creating a label for Gfriend?

    That would be amazing.

  • Correction: GFriend was a successful group with moderate sales volume

  • it was only sistar who disbanded while they could continue producing bops and hits but they stated they had other plans, meanwhile gfriend stated nothing?

At least for Sistar, they gave us like a really nice disbandment week by having a final song with "Lonely" and also promoted a medley of their top hits. Like they even have a trailer for their disbandment MV and all with at least 1 week of promotions

They also did say that members wants to try other stuff and mutually all agreed to disband. But for Gfriend it was more sudden with like no proper farewell

    :pepe-sad::pepe-sad:

  • Could IT be that current Style in kpop don't fit GFriend. (Composition, Lyrics,)

  • I'm really curious why they disbanded too, and I hope we can get some answers soon. I'm personally leaning towards one of these 3:

    - They plan on taking the group to a different label, bc they think they'll be managed better there.

    - Source didn't want them anymore (maybe bc they think they'll have their hands full with their new GG?)

    - Some of the members want to take their careers in a different direction (going solo, trying a different genre, or stop being an idol altogether).

  • I don't know what happened but yes no one staying in the company and no one giving any clue on what is going on and what is going to happen is definitely fishy.

Overworking is definitely a possibility but even then i would have though at least 1 member would have stayed (like Sowon, Yerin or Umji/Eunha).

I don't think success and age really matter in this case as they did earn a lot of money already and they probably privilege what they really want to do over the most profitable solutions.

Also no way source didn't want them, not in a million years.
