It's a step down from Black Mamba and that wasn't quite at the level of K/DA (a "group" with a similar concept killing it with songs and MVs before Aespa. They have Soyeon though, which is almost like cheating). I was hoping for an improvement. The vocal section at 2:08 is great, but the rap that makes up most of the song was mediocre and kinda boring. If they flipped the ratio of rap and vocal it would have been much better.
I can't see Next Level getting much radio play, but maybe they can get a foothold on tiktok. Not sure what SM was thinking with this comeback song.
