Could YG successfully recycle 2ne1 concept for the second time?

I’m hoping so. They shouldn’t have disbanded in the first place. They’re my No 1 girl group but tbh they might find it tough with Blackpink and new groups on the scene. We’ll see what happens.

You're asking too much of Teddy lol. He's been in the biz since like 1808, does he really have enough in the tank for ANOTHER GG?

If you add up all his work with BB, 2NE1, BP, 1TYME, and the solo productions for Sunmi, Lee Hi, and the YG group soloists, he's probably had over 40 hit songs and over 25 #1 songs. I tried to add them up one time but there was spotty chart information once you go back before BB/2NE1's era, plus there are so many songs i just got tired lol.

A new GG is gonna need to either be self producing like Soyeon or YGE is gonna have to find a new inhouse producer that is capable of putting out quality tracks. And if this happens, we could hear a sound that's completely different. Which for many on here who hate Teddy's music could be a blessing lol.

They will do better than for example treasure on korean charts that's for sure... I doubt they would do as well as bp tho but who knows. It's not like the sample size is that big, we have mostly seen their bgs after bb do pretty meh outside of a couple hits

It would compete with BP. Until BP disbands, I don't think it will be possible.

Would the new gg ever release music tho? BP puts out maybe 5 songs a year. BabyMon is prolly only getting teasers

Just because an egotistical maniac dropped an unthoughtful comment right before a groups debut doesn't make it a fact. It was his opinion. Bp is nothing like 2ne1. And in my opinion 2ne1 was a pretty dashing group visually. These two groups are very different and if you spend time with their discographies you will realise they are different sonically as well. Stop using this to drag the pinks.

blackpink is nothing like 2ne1 except of being 4 members

if anything blackpink was originally inspired by snsd but with YG's flavor

BP was never like 2ne1, they have their own concept, unlike 2ne1 who focused themselves in the hard and mature concepts with some touches of freaky, BP pull out the maturity, the youth, the growing up in their colours, both black and pink . Both can be in the girl crush category, but they were never alike

The so called 'recycled concept' is what the company itself is strong at. Of course they are going with their forte. You dont expect YG to release a cute GG right?
