    Every drama she played in since 2022 have reached a double digit number of average viewer


    In 2022, Big mouth had an average viewer of 10.1%, with the highest rating being 13.7%.

    The drama also won Drama of the year at the MBC drama awards in 2022


    In 2023, King the land had an average viewer of 10.3% and the highest viewership was 13.7%.


    And this year "Bon appetit, Your majesty" have been one of the most successfull drama of the year

    With an average of 11.7% and the highest being 17.1%.

    And the drama was mentionned alongside hit series like Wednesday, alice in boderland

    As Netflix biggest success for their third quarter


    And her movies have also been quite successfull

    In 2019, Exit reached 69.5M at the box office and became the #3 highest grossing domestic movie in 2019


    In 2022, confidential assignment reached 54M at the box office and also became the #3 highest grossing domestic movie in 2022


    And her last movie, Pretty crazy gave her a nomination at the blue dragon film awards as Best actress, the only idol actress nominated in this category

    The top idol actresses are: Yoon Eun Hye and Seo Hyunjin. They are both Beaksang winners.


    A tier lower are Jang Nara, Eugene, Sung Yuri.


    But I can see YoonA is leading among those of her peers. Because she has many successful movie projects and wins prestigious award (Grand Bell award, albeit for supporting actress).


    In acting world: movies >> series.

    Well, deepends on what we mean by "currently"..... but sure. I have always liked her, even if I have only seen her in two dramas Prime Minister & I and King the land, and after King the Land and Bon Appétit, Your Majesty I guess mabye she is the hotest Idol actress right now. But I still put IU and Suzy before her.

    None of these 3 is the overall top idol-actress currently tbh. I mean some of the seniors still haven't retired yet.

    Every drama yoona and IU starred in have been more successfull than Suzy latest Drama


    And Suzy didn't have any success in the box office since 2019 with Ashfall


    These past years both IU and Yoona have performed much better than her in drama and movie

    I think right this very second its Yoona, but if you open it up to all of 2025 its Yoona or IU.


    Bon Appetite, Your Majesty and When Life Gives You Tangerines have been 2 of the biggest dramas this year, whereas I don't think Suzy's Genie has had the same level of success overall.

    I would say from current idol turned actresses Yoona indeed participates in most watched dramas


    Btw I never thought she will get past Sejeong and Chaeyeon, but if someone ask me right now I would say that yeah she is doing better than those two, as well than Seolhyun.


    But overall I would still personally say that from all mentioned female idols there is one which tries bigger variety of roles, and that one is Suzy.


    Her next work already seems interesting because she will play owner of hotel, action is set in 1935, and the story is adaptation of an popular webtoon.

    How can she be the top idol actress when directors don't trust her ability to pull viewers lmao. Don't fool yourself, Big Mouth was Lee Jongsuk's long awaited comeback and King The Land was a joint effort. People had been waiting for a Junho x YoonA drama since their special performance.


    YoonA is doing well but I can't call her the top idol actress until she proves that she can do well in a genre that is not romcom or a drama where she is the sole lead.

    It's already the 13th most watched Korean Netflix original of all time and it has been out for only 1 month.

    Idk why u have to wait until right now.

    YoonA was literally the lead actress in a 40%+ rating drama. Back then she was even more popular than her idol group because of that role.


    It's the most basic definition of "most watched dramas".

    Well in 2022 after Business Proposal it seemed that Sejeong popularity will skyrocket outside of Korea. But later on any of her works didn't come close to Business Proposal.


    So overall in 2025 which is kind of 'slower' year for kdrama's, there ain't that many hits, and Yoona played in one of those which had great ratings so like I said she's at the top.

    In 99% of the drama there's always 2 leads, a male lead and a female lead


    And Yoona already prove that se can do great in drama/movies who aren't romcom, neither exit or Big mouth are romcom and she have been very successfull in both drama

    If Big mouth had such success because of Lee jongsuk it would have mean that his previous drama were actually successfull

    But no all his drama before his break in 2019 were under 10% of viewer rating


    His last drama that was able to break the 10% of average viewer before his break was "W" and it was release in 2016


    His drama were barely able to reach 8% for 3 years but if suddenly one of his drama reach 11% it's only because of him

    That's delusion


    And who said if Yoona drama were successfull it was only because of her ?


    If a drama is successfull it's because both the lead male and female are doing a great job, they have a great chemistry and the plot is great


    I've never said Yoona was the only reason that these dramas were successfull


    I'm just noticing that weirdly Yoona have play for the past 3 years always in very successfull drama

    And that she's also one of the factor for these drama success


    In contrary of you trying so hard to deny it

    Exit and Big Mouth featured A list actors. Bffr. Both these projects could have anyone else as female lead and they would have done the same. Don't act as if people were going to theatres to watch Exit for YoonA when her 2025 movie with Ahn Bohyun bombed at the box office.


    YoonA played a big role in KTL and BAYM's success but it's a fact that she has yet to prove whether she can carry a show all by herself like Suzy did in Anna. And that's why she's not the top idol actress imo.

    The real question is why people are still taking about Yoona (35 years old) , Suzy (31 years old) and Lee Jieun (1,352 years old) now.

    People were talking about Yoona (28), Suzy (24) and Lee Jieun (25, true age revealed in 2019) back then and they are still talking about them 7 years later.


    No one replaced them after 7 years!


    The reason is none of them can compete with non-idol actresses, so the media/fandoms created a new category to make these 3 the top.


    Ironically, even within that category, they aren't even the very top, so fandoms either ignored the seniors idol-actresses, or narrowed it further by limiting to only 2nd+ gen.
