(Unpopular opinion) Hybe stans are better than Sm stans

who is worse or not does not matter to me. if you stan a company, I don't respect you.

Unlike SM stans, HYBE stans seem to handle things more quietly and behind the scenes, which makes them feel a bit sneaky and almost cult-like to me. SM stans are more out in the open, probably because they interact with so many groups, so their toxic behavior is just more visible. Still, after everything that happened with NewJeans recently, I honestly think it’s hard to find a fandom worse than HYBE stans. Of course, this is all just based on my surface level observations in general, company stans tend to be pretty problematic.

Big4 stans are all bad by default. Imo all are as bad as each other the only good stans are the ones with no bragging rights

Hybe stans treat SM stans as if SM stans are supporting a satanic cult

i was brainwashed by them in 2017. At this time I was still an army and i happened to check out red flavor and i was genuinely pissed off cause it was so good but it was from the evil company that was doing everything in its power to destroy BTS and that represented evil robot idols that had a hold in an industry through shady deals and blackmail and whatever not. SM was represented as this factory of robots that had no authenticity and enslaved all their idols by these hybe stans.

And well now everyone has gnarly and a bunch of no name idols that noone cares about and that can't sing . So congratulations for making it much worst.

They exist and are as bad, it's just that their groups aren't as relevant at this point in time. I guess you weren't around pre-covid when Twice and Itzy was at their peak. Or say if SKZ Korean success matched their international success.

Let's be honest Hybe stan isn't really a thing. It's BTS stans. BTS stans who like other kpop groups. BTS stans who defend Hybe because it's their faves companies and the rest of the kpop community hates on Hybe because ofcourse there is a lot to criticize but primarily because they are BTS's company.

There's no such a thing as Hybe Stan, y'all hate BTS and let out all your frustrations on these new young ggs of Hybe, and to justify it you label these Fanwars hybe stans vs sm stans, hybe stans vs blinks and bla bla. On the other hand, sm stans are the actual cult making alliances with jobless blinks draggjng other groups 24/7.

The closest thing we got to "Hybe stans" were armys token stanning newjeans, that's it.

nahh ive been here for a while now but i only listened to the music before

i think thats why i didnt notice

i didnt interact with kpop fandoms much before 2020 or 2021

I'm an ARMY, obviously, but I like all kinds of groups, both nugu and famous. Have also posted about all kinds of groups on this forum for years. This while there are several HYBE groups I almost never listen to or only very casually.

Yet some people will go "but you're a HYBE stan!" with full on toxic weirdness when I say something they don't like. It's weird and also quite childish.

Dumb fanwars have made some people think they're in a kind of perpetual battle of Good (=their fandom) vs Evil (=whatever fandom they have a problem with).

No, weirdos. You're all just nasty people typing furiously at each other. You're not the defenders of a castle in an epic medieval battle. And yes, that last part goes for some people in my own fandom too.

Ironically, the hate pointed at HYBE girl groups makes me want to support them more than I would have done otherwise.

Before Newjeans incident, i kinda understand Hybe stans. Their groups were going well, their idols supposedly were treated well. But SM stans, they didn't know how many idols left SM for mistreatment? They stan a company that probably in the future will treat their faves badly, lol.
