Tips on making a successful thread?

idk never had one but i think its by asking something controversial lol

I only make threads praising my faves and they arent successful threads

So dont post positive things

Make a taglist, and tag a bunch of people

at least that's what I do

I wouldn’t know as I’ve only done a few in the five years I’ve been a member here and they flopped. That’s why I don’t anymore. Threads on interesting and original topics are good as well as controversial ones, but they usually end up a mess with mods closing them.

Apparently the new trend is

"tag some users, whether you consider them friends or not and they'll just come running, at least some of them!"

Well I don't really do that unless it's an important thread or a thread with huge news that I would tag the whole fandom who signed up for those taglists. But I'm satisfied with a few posts and we're good

This is the way

You need to make a thread about controversial topics and these type of thread have some negativity to them, so to me i would rather flop with a positive thread than negative one

well I remember many of Hardys Hit threads were 98% about BP, but then he would throw in a half sentence mentinoning BTS in any way and boom.. the thread became a hit
