I'm interested in PinkPunk more than anything. Saying the n-word is pretty much the norm.

Isn't the video old? I know I have seen it before in the past
Not to excuse them but I think it's a YG thing where they make trainees cover rap songs without censoring. Not naming the YG trainees but there's been many instances where a trainee said the N word due to covering the song. I don't think we can fully blame the idol and more so the YG process of not learning from their mistakes.

It's not surprising at all
But messy and for what

That is understandable. But no excuses. They should send apology messages. RM did it before and took classes if I remember right??

Ohhh noooo. Ohhh noooo. I just saw the clips.

I hate everything about it, because K-Pop stans can't be normal about this situation. Ever. There will be people rightfully legitimately upset, people who go all in on their performative outrage just to drag down BP and, in my opinion, the most annoying people who will do all kinds of mental gymnastics to dictate and dismiss legitimately offended people, with borderline racist if not outright racist accusations.
I've seen it too, too many times in K-Pop.
Buckle up.

Incredibly messy. The sad thing is YG didn't learn their lesson because it has happened many times with YG trainees. It's not like we can say these companies don't know any better because there's been many controversies about it. It's a bad look because kpop is influenced by rap and r&b. So, it's kind of a thing that companies should know better when covering material you're influenced by
I could be wrong, but the video of Jennie and Lisa saying it is old because I know I have seen it before. It is weird for them not to apologize about it and brush it to the side because it can always resurface and haunt them. I'm a fan of them, but it's a bad look when their solo songs are rap and r&b songs. I am curious how they handle it if this gets big because I know I have seen it before and no apology about it.

It's nasty right now on X. There's a certain fandom making a lot of noise about it. I find it weird when there are clips of members in that group saying the N word. I think some of them apologized though

a sincere apology will do. It will just be a big issue to international fans, bet Korea will not give af about this

Agreed
They should apologize about it. I know they will receive heat but I blame the YG process because it's not the first time and it won't be the last time. Those 2 would need to apologize if they want to breakthrough in the American market because it's a death sentence for most artists.
-
Not just rap songs, but r&b songs will have the N word. Certain idols filmed themselves singing the N word in r&b songs.
-
Who are the other groups of ador then???

Not all the videos have slurs
Demos, mvs, dance practices etc all getting leaked
-
because it's a death sentence for most artists.
Is it though? Justin Bieber said it multiple times in a very racist way, hard R.
and never forget the Pewdiepie bridge incident. Of course they should still apologize, but I wouldn't say it's a death sentence.

Goddamn it

I think it depends on how big their fandom is. An artist is safe if they have a lot of fans. If they have a smaller fan base, then they're usually done. It could end up bad for Lisa and Jennie because their fan base is not that big in America. It could be different times where people don't care as much, so it's up in the air to see how this will affect them
-
It will be just a repeat of the Kendrick incident 6-7 years ago.
