It put a new word into the Korean dictionary
I was into Kpop when this song was released, and I didn't even know it existed until today. 
I think you're greatly overestimating its reach.

Guess I'm an ahjumma then too, cuz I also remember Some, it was a smash hit that charted at #1 for months back in the day! Legendary! Still love that song too, quite a bop! Lyrically super relatable too!
There was even a scene in this kdrama I watched called Encounter about a noona/younger guy romance w/Park Bogum & Song Hye Kyo where PBG announces on tv when questioned in an interview that he's in a "some" relationship w/SHK a female CEO of a company (which means you both like each other but aren't dating even tho you're acting like you're dating).
That's how widespread the impact of that song was in Korea, that it was added to their vernacular!
I admit I think it was more of a domestic hit than an international one tho, tho it did have Soyu from SISTAR singing half the song tho who were really famous both in Korea and abroad around that time as well.
So that's why only some international Kpop fans would remember that song and not others I guess 🤷🏻♀️

This is easily one of my favorite Kdramas and I forgot all about that! Fantastic reference

It definitely was, but it's funny because K-Pop wasn't huge internationally at the time outside of Psy really. Not compared to what it was by 2020.

she also had a collaboration with mad clown after "Some" who did well too
and starship completely messed up with her, they didn't promote her enough after this, took too much time to launch her solo debut.
they were trying to promote Hyorin so much thinking that she was the next big thing and trying to make her the korean beyonce but her career never took off in korea and in the same time they were completely abandonning Soyou career when she was the one who was on the rise and had the potential
I always thought that Mamamoo is similar to Sistar. And in a good way
Without Sistar and Mamamoo, Starship and RBW wouldn't be what they are today
