Most people buying NJ album currently are album collectors/speculators because they think NJ albums will soon be unavailable Maybe some casual listeners too with the "end of NJ" news but the surge of NJ albums sales of last few weeks is not due to NJ fans

My faith in the fandom is renewed. It can't be that everyone are stupid and care so much for stupid sales. Can't be.

People were buying Yeezys still and the height of Kanye's shithead behaviour.
Collectors are an odd breed.

Mmm, i would not say all are collector, or even a big part are collectors. For my experience, Kanye's fans are shit, most of them atleast.

It not only about NJ, it's like Hybe is saying the protection of the legal system and system of contracts. If the system with contracts between companies and the artists suddenly breaks down we will have wild wild west where companies can't trust their contracts. Who want to invest in creating new kpop groups if they members can whine and do media play about them being misstreated with very little substance.
Some fans don't understand what danger this is to the kpop system, it could be the bening of the end for kpop if NJ just can run away without any punishment. Maybe you will be happy for NJ but KPOP could get killed. Also, it works both way, if it's easy to break contract it can be as easy for companies to claim similar "break down trust" and dump artist they don't want anymore.
I'm a bit curioius about how the revenue sharing will look like after this. If NJ claim the contract is over I guess they can't get any share of the revenue the contract say they should have?

Even I bought one, so I really can't blame them lmao.
It's been sitting in my cart since it dropped

Lol. Is like saying greedy is gonna end if NJs just leave. Companies will be fine.
But if this really is the beginning of the end of the Kpop system, then so be it. Fans don't realize how fuck up is the Kpop system, how enslaving it is for the idols.Newjeans can't work for free or giving their image for free.

Hybe wants NJs back to put them in the dungeon tbh, not to keep them releasing music, touring, etc. do you think they want to show NJs full potential? IF and a big IF they get NJs back they'll do everything to minimize their "power" and like give them 1 cb in every two years and a little tour bc they would want the biggest tour to go to their others ggs. The only thing they'll keep is their brand deals, but just this.
And I think what NJs is doing with this whole contract termination is simply amazing! I hope they win bc kpop won't be destroyed just bc now idols have 1% of chance to be treated as humans and kpop companies won't go bankrupt bc of it. I hope this shows kpop executives to stop being incels, assholes, shit heads and stop interfering in the growth of their own groups and idols bc till this day kpop companies do this. B t s they discourage, humiliate so much the idols and expect them to just stay loyal like puppies ?? Nope, let's change this game a little, let's give idols power to fight back!
-
Lol, its all about the investors, thats the only reason they want to keep them, to the point of trying to make MHJ happy with that random director job and then saying they have a tour and CB lined up for them next year after they announced the contract end.
Don't forget, Hybe has been trying for years to show stability by showing they have a wide range of very successful groups so if BTS don't renew the company won't go belly up.
Yeah 17 is big, but they renewed which means more money to the members vs the company, TXT is nearing the end of their initial contract and the other rookie groups they have debuted combined haven't been half as profitable as newjeans. Why else do you think the shareholders finally started making statements and they are trying to push through with that Ador BG? They NEED to show long term profitability and Ador as a whole was their best example of that.
Even if they didn't give newjeans CB's like they were planning, the ad deals they had would have still blown the majority of Hybe groups out of the water incomewise. Don't forget they managed it the same year the majority of Hybe groups were on tour. Thats also why they launched the lawsuit to 'confirm the validity of the contract', they hope it'll go quicker than the damages claim so it will reassure investors they haven't lost a huge cash cow.

So you call all companies "greedy"? You know behind all comapanies are people that work hard and invest their money to build an enterprise and earn a living.
Sure the Idols systems is kind of veird, both in kpop and jpop. But hey, let be hones, we enjoyed and would miss it if it disappeared and we only have the normal wester kind of music system with no groups at all, or very very few of them.
And how can you call them "enslaved" when Idols like BP, NJ, Twice, Girls' Generation and more have became rich and starts? It's does not make any sence. 99 % of the idols would not have a chance in music if it was not for the companies and their trainee programs.
