NewJeans Payola...?

On multiple occasions (pre and post HYBE vs MHJ dispute), I have witnessed bunnies (or rather tokkies, idk) bash other HYBE groups (apart from NewJeans) for winning awards.

They label it as payola and as a rigged award show. All while forgetting that NewJeans...is a HYBE group 🤯🤯🤯

So I ask you: how can any of you be sure that HYBE didn't utilize payola to get NewJeans some of the awards that they have received these past few years?

However, knowing some of the people on here, im going to queue the "NewJeans are just more talented"

Is it unreasonable to believe that their charting could also have been manipulated by HYBE or no?

I'm not talking about currently btw, because NewJeans has received a lot of support from non-bunnies so naturally they would chart well.

For example, 250 won four awards at the 2023 Korean Music Awards. He won the Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Electronic Album of the Year, and Electronic Song of the Year. Frank is also well respected. I can name other well established song writers that participated in the albums.

The team behind Newjeans are veterans of the industry including MHJ, and as the cherry on top, NJs members had the it factor. Lot of things have to fall right even for successful people, and the Newjeans project is no different.

Then there are external factors like the pandemic/kpop boom and the explosive growth of tik tok.

Kpop has a domestic popularity problem. Unlike the 1st/2nd gen, people now view Kpop as young people music. Part of the falling out has to do with the perception that idol groups are produced from a Kpop factory. People caught on to the inauthentic nature of a lot of the groups being pumped out.

The difference is MHJ believes in the old SM style development of idols. This is why there is a looseness to the way NJs perform and there are pockets in their choreo that allows them to bounce and groove. It isn't about all the members hitting the same angle every time. This is why there are small variations to their performances each time, and special moments develop in an organic manner.

They are authentic since they believe in the project and had a help in developing it. It is the reason why the members are risking everything to break free. It is why they have so much support from their peers in the industry.

The combination of the producers/song writers, NJs members and the creative direction of MHJ, they were able to break out of the Kpop bubble. They were able to capture the 20-30s crowd that other Kpop groups were unable to capture. This is also why they are known as the darlings of S. Korea.
