  • RBW is literally THE WORST and Laziest Kpop company EVER! They have the most talented artists, yet they don't do anything with them.

Mamamoo built their company, doesn't do much with them, just wasting their money. Purple Kiss never had a 1st day number like this. Hardly promote them. I don't even know if Oneus or Onewe are still active or not. Oh My Girl was one the biggest girl group in the 3rd gen, but since they bought WME they're flopping.

Spent all their Mamamoo money on buying companies and buildings. None left over for you know, operating as a Kpop agency.

  • David33 ~ So RBW does not or does very little in promoting its artists??

Then why the hell are they even in the industry??? [ I'm venting at the label, not at you. It's infuriating. ]

"You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't bout how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward." ~ Rocky Balboa

  • If i remember well the only thing RBW did well with Purple Kiss in second half of year was that Anyang University Festival performance for which they've probably came as package deal with Oh My Girl sunbaenim

as for other thing there was KBS Open Concert performance too, but they must know all of those dates earlier on didn't they? then why company couldn't schedule comeback somewhere around those dates, like a month ago then they could promote new song on events which for Purple Kiss were the biggest ones to attend...

  • This group got hit with the same curse as Kepler—the inconsistent concept and sound before establishing themselves well ruined their momentum. And since they didn’t start as strong as Kepi, their downfall is even worse. RBW is too ambitious, they buying new companies but not even managing them properly and even neglecting their own children.

  • I always tell myself that sales and charting isn't necessarily reflective of quality, but I know the economic reality. Hopefully they'll climb up. Might pop over to my local K-pop shop to see if they have it in stock by the end of the week. It's a good EP :waterr:

  • Hopefully it's a processing error, but this is sad to see. They make good music and are one of the most talented groups. They have one of the best vocalist in Swan. Goeun is also a top vocalist and the others are solid. Their dance line can compete with other groups, and overall they're well balanced. I guess the constant concept change hurts them, andtalent can only take you so far in this industry

  • Let's stop with the myth of the concept or the quality of the music, I sincerely thought that all that was behind us since the "Rollin" episode.

First, like I said on the comeback thread, with all the most popular idols making their comebacks at the same time there is nothing to hope for the group, RBW had to plan a comeback and send their least popular group to the slaughterhouse (It's sad but that's how it works). The only thing to hope is that the comeback is good enough to keep the flame alive in the fanbase and hope to bounce back in the next comeback.

Secondly, the "decline" ( It's hard to say decline when it never really took off) of the group over time comes from the branding of the group. The image of the group is not selling, everything seems cheap. Compare the last MV with groups that come from smaller companies with less means like Rescene or Kiss of Life. The company seems to have learned its lesson when we see the work done on this point for Young Posse.

The idol market has nothing to do with musical quality or concept unfortunately, what matters most is the hype and brand image of the group.

I think the best way for Purple Kiss to bounce back would be to completely overhaul their image like Dreamcatcher did in the past or simply to get out of the idol market and enter the artist market by going for a total production.

If you really love something, you have to know how to let go.

You're asking the wrong guy, sadly. I'm never gonna understand why RBW doing this.

When Mamamoo debuted, I was like, okay it's a small company with literary zero resource, they couldn't even afford a dance choreographer for YEARS! But now, they have the money, and it's not like you need billions to promote your artists. I mean, for the love of God, fans doing a much better job for free. This company is just lazy!

I'm 1000% sure Solar and Byul only signed for another 2 or 3 years, so they can get MMM's name later. It's gonna expire soon.

People like to say that at RBW, artists have creative freedom, and that's 100% true, but if they don't promote their work, it doesn't mean much, especially for rookie groups.

MMM, Kard, OMG has a dedicated mid-size fandom already, but the rest of them are just existing, basically.

  • 165K views on YouTube after 12 hours.

Does anyone know how that compares to past releases?

I know they don't chart on Melon and such.

  • BTW, are they under an affiliate of RBW?

Because this is the only tweet that I see about PK in their official account.

HYBE's toxicity made it normal to buy own albums than re-sell them with 50% discount. It's ok not to fake own sales. At least we see the true quantity from RBW.

First time I even slightly agree with David33 (I'm stunned) but yeah I had high hopes after RBW bought WME(same as when Gfriend's agency was bought in 2019 but we all know how tat turned out, would OMG still be 7 if WME wasn't bought by RBW or would WME have just gone bankrupt/disbanded OMG-talk about worst case scenarios/double edged sword/between scylla and charybdis(read odyssey/Ulysses for Greek mythology ref).

Well, TIL Giuk is a soloist.
