Why do some KPOP fans generalize Koreans based off of 5 Knetz comments?

Goes both ways. Some Koreans or knetz generalise I-fans too.

Even called us I-roaches. Why?🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Sometimes those few knetz hold so much power that idol's career get ruined completely. But yeah, it's never right to generalize.

I don't think it's a Western superiority complex since I'm pretty sure knetz think the same way of the i-fans. They (or some of them) call us i-roaches so... It all comes down to cultural differences.

Now, I agree i-fans can be just as obnoxious as knetz. They merely don't get triggered by the things.

Still, the difference in my opinion is i-fans have very little power over idols' careers whereas knetz can litterally cancel an idol for good.

It’s gotten worse lately bc In the past you could tell if top comments get +100k__+30k then it’s a serious issue now we don’t get to see something that could resemble a public opinion. So any translated comment weight the same.. and fans care about what people think of their idols in their homeland so...

On the other hand it’s so stupid, if my county were judged based on what people write online we would be the most hated people on the planet

Well, this is just a forum that is populated by 50% trolls, plus there's never more than about 100 or so regulars on here. I dont think what we say is that serious.

Plus it's more fun to blow up an issue, it makes the discussion more lively.

For some of us, we are intimately familiar with both the strengths and weaknesses of Korean society and culture, either from living there or growing up in traditional Korean households.

these kinds of mess will never get cleaned up and you just end up getting your hands dirty

It relates to an inability to think in complexity. Similar tendencies is the root of racism aka attributing a whole group bc of the actions of a handful.

When I was new on akp I was bafffles how people legit thought 5 comments from places like pann (literally the worst of the worst) repsrented the opinion of over 50 mil people. Yet here we still are
