I've spent most of my 16+ years in kpop immersed in the girl group side of our world.

But I do occasionally take trips to see the boy group world.

I find songs that speak to me. Move me. Make me cry or cheer.

It's the magic of this world. And the guys deserve their credit for helping make it.

So today I thought I'd share my favorites from the guys.

Old school R&B perfection. This is the sort of song you can hear in old school kdrama melos. The sound that I remember from my early time getting into into Kdramas. They don't do this kind of feeling anymore. They don't do this kind of R&B anymore.

I remember hearing this for the first time in City Hunter. So beautiful. So nostalgic. The type of ballad that used to be all over kpop. They do not make songs like this anymore.

Transcendent. I get chills when the intro starts. The kind of epic emotional love rock ballad that brings me straight back to high school. Reminiscent of the type of alt rock guitar ballads that were huge during my youth. So beautiful. So big and heartfelt.

yeah your #1 is such like an earnest, nostalgic song that I think it gets a bit undestimated these days because everyone wants sexy or dark concepts and it's basically the antithesis of that lol. The vocals are really amazing on it too.

Generally Infinite + Sweetune were as perfect of a match as Twice + BEP were. They peaked with Be Mine, Paradise and The Chaser

You know even though I love albums like exodus and dmumt these days the album I go back the most to is actually XOXO.

It was an album that was very special and imo the greatest debut album a kpop group released. So fresh even today.

Love Peter Pan and don’t go. I think this sound was definitely something that suited rookie exo a lot. The harmonies, the youthful vibes very EXO very timeless.
