I actually agree
I've been really into 2nd gen songs recently
And it hit me how kpop before used to have its own vibe
Kpop and kpop songs before before used to just be fun and that's it
Like it feel like there was no idea behind it beside making a fun songs that people would love just
Now it doesn't have this vibe anymore
Kpop feels more like an extension of western music market which wasn't the case before
And now the fun part just disappear from kpop
Like you can directly feel it now when you listen to kpop songs that now company just have as a goal to make a viral tik tok songs it feel even more noticeable with illit debut
Where their songs just sound like a background song you would heard on a random tik tok video while scrolling

I got into K-Pop in early 2020 so sadly I wasn't around at that time
But back then, the groups I was into (Twice, WJSN, Loona, Tri.Be, (G)-IDLE etc.) released a lot of fun music. I learned dances, just to vibe along and have fun. Everything seemed a little bit more energetic as well. And just more fun.
Also, MVs used to be different. There was way more "understandable" lore. They were more fun
Now, Twice doesn't release cute songs anymore, WJSN basically disbanded, Loona disbanded and Tri.Be + (G)-IDLE changed their concept.
I have never been a big reality show content enjoyer, all I watch is behind the scenes sometimes.
Hell, I even used to be sooooo into aespa back then
Everything kinda lost it's fun side to it -

The title tracks are still as good as before but not really the albums. They are not enough my cup of tea.
As for the idols, I generally find them less interesting and charismatic than before.
