ZICO apologizes for popularizing ‘dance challenges’ in K-pop

Apology not accepted. Every time I'm recommend a dance challenge I want to cancel my internet service.

I have noticed that thing where it seems like kpop idols don't only need to practice their own dances, but other groups' dances too. (not sure if it was like that too before dance challenges on TikTok)

I'm not sure how it might be like, but it kinda sounds like extra work.

Even though I myself had for fun kinda practiced ATEEZ's Bouncy and Crazy Form choreography (or only the "dance challenge" parts.) But well... I'm not a dancer, so I can't compare myself to kpop artists.

It really started with him and Any Song.. Somi continued it with her comebacks which worked well for her. Then, now everyone is doing it.

He really did add that to the promotion strategy of kpop.

This is also just the tik tok age. They need to post content and that’s an easy one. But yeah, especially with different idol schedules, it does seem like extra work they didn’t have before.

I think they are great personally. I like the wholesome interactions we get between groups.

I blame Kai as well till then people were doing it here and there but the dude went and did it with everyone and anyone and learnt all their choreo and now everyone thinks that’s expected behavior

I think it's great for kpop and I do think the idols are enjoying it. They could meet new friends

It is just more unnecessary pressure on idols, especially when comeback period is already really stressful for them. Though it's not really zico's fault that the kpop industry took his fun dance challenge and made it into the obligation that it is now

Honestly kpop tik tok challenges have become an overdose. Do u need to collab with everyone? It's become extra job for these idols during comeback season with already hectic schedules.
