Some singers, mostly groups (thanks to their agencies) trying hard to be in TOP10, and there are artists like IU (not just her of course) who's making music for her fans and because she loves making music. Music is ART, like any other, if you only care about Awards and stats, you're not a real artist. Simple as that.

IU is a digimon beast in SK, there's no question - but to say she garners the same type of pull in the United States is simply not true. That's the V effect.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but if we look at the fact that she never did any worldwide PR and still has more songs on Billboard than Blackpink, and all of her songs charted for more weeks I think, says a lot. That's why I said, it's not just V or any BTS member. So we're on the same page.

PAk works very different today compared to two years ago because of the inclusion of the youtube chart, which is a weekly chart (compared to the domestic ones which have always been hourly and daily/24h ul charts). Its tracking period is friday-thursday and the chart is updated on sundays. The tracking period for LWA for this weeks update is likely to short and it will not get #1 until next weeks sunday (assuming it stays at #1)
This means that its impossible for any song to get PAK within 3 days with how instiz chart works today. In practice its extremely hard if not impossible to get it within seven days. The normal, depending on the day its released would be at the minimum 8-9 days until it can get #1 on youtube chart.

I didn't know this. So, that means no one can beat IU's 2 day record. A bit unfair, but okay. I don't think the inclusion of YT is a good idea, but I'm not surprised, streams nowadays make good headlines.
