do you think kpop companies should stop revealing pre-order numbers?

BTS stopped announcing pre-order numbers for group and solo albums...
But companies announce it.. I guess to encourage fans to buy more and break records..... -
I don't understand the whole reasoning for releasing pre-order numbers people are just gonna hate on a group if their numbers are low, people are doing that to SKZ because JYP didn't release their pre-order numbers. Honestly who cares what the number is, as long as the actual album sales are high, it shouldn't matter.
-
however and this is important - it's people's interpretations of those numbers that matter...
kpop companies can reveal or not reveal the pre-order numbers or not - it's completely up to them...if they do it's fans/antis interpretation of those numbers that matter
-
Sales are inflated so whatever atp it's up the companies decision to reveal it.

But actually kpop companies stopped releasing groups preorder
SM didn't announce the preorder for NCT and Aespa comeback
Starship didn't announce the preorder for IVE album
Because none of those break their previous pre orders
It's simply as that
Rest assured if any of those have matched their previous their other pre orders numbers their companies would be bragging about it

that's not true tho i think kpop companies are still releasing groups pre-order numbers if they surpass their previous pre-order record sales. the latest ones who released pre-order numbers were riize and seventeen
starship is the only one who has never revealed pre-order numbers for IVE since debut or any of their groups for that matter

Because they don’t need the media play.

Can't speak for others mentioned cause I don't follow them close enough, but for Stray Kids, I definitely think they didn't announce the pre-orders, cause It didn't beat 5-STAR.
I've been expecting for it to happen even before the album was announced, since It was released barely 5 months since their previous album, a five million seller. My thoughts were concretized when I saw their bars weren't pushing as hard as for 5-STAR and I had a thermometer to judge, thinking the fans from other countries wouldn't be also as motivated.
I definitely think It might be different for their first 2024 comeback, which I think will be within 7-8 months from now.

that makes sense and 5 million is a really huge number to surpass. how long were there releases usually between albums?
