Which KPOP group/idol did you think won't become big but ended up having a successful career, and vice versa?

Sadly Kep1er. I followed the show almost as hard as P48 and such high hopes for the group but.. final lineup wasn't for me. Still lightly follow them for Hikaru, Yeseo, Mashiro and Xiaoting. Just wish they got more love in Korea cause the girls that did make it are talented for the most part.

At debut or after a few comebacks?

Anyway, at debut:

Predicted to hit, hit: Stray Kids, TxT, Enhypen

Predicted to hit, flop: ABI6X

Predicted to flop, hit: The Boyz (not really hit, but they did much better than what I expected at their debut)

Predicted to flop, flop: WayV, Oneus, Can I put Cravity here without offending their fans?

NCT start is acknowledged to be a historical flop. Their first "hit" song was released 4 years after their debut and they only started to be discussed as a top group in 2020. Absolutely nobody was even expecting them to sell any better and the claims back then were that SM needed to release another group to compete with the other companies

Their late success take people off-guard and many people still disregarding them in the top boygroups tier list as they were already surpassed by 4th gen groups

You are indeed, the first person that I've met who expected NCT to be the biggest Boygroup

NCT 127 debut failed to chart and sold 80k in 6 months

It indeed did better than SVT or Stray Kids, but barely. 3 years later the situation of SVT and Stray Kids were no worse than NCT who were struggling to reach 300k in album sales and still had no hit at sight

Kick It is what catapulted NCT to stardom. Their fandom grewn a lot and they released other hit sons, specially NCT Dream

But nonetheless, there was never any sign of NCT being a potential top group. If anything they were constantly belittled for being a flop group who turned out to be actually pretty big on their own right
