ITZY is indeed the best performance GG out there. Their stage presence is generally insane + they always look energetic on stage. The only 4th gen GG that could give them a run of money is probably Lesserafim.
No hate, but sometimes i really wonder what was JYP trying to achieve with ITZY. Itzy since debut with that Dalla dalla sound+dance is really destined to be a strong performance group. Icy +wannabe basically confirmed that direction. 4 of them are like super top tier dancer but why... why Lia. Lia is very likeable and she has improved a lot since debut but her dance skill is still far behind the rest of the group. Lia more suitable for cuter songs like Boys like you, sneakers. But when the song is dance intensive, you will see her struggle to keep up + she being main vocal, most of the time she has to focus on both and leading to her look sloppy. The girl would shine more in less dance intensive group but Jyp really thrown her into such group highlighting her only weakeness 🥲

Dont make me go on my whole JYP made ITZY as a touring group but got fvcked over by Covid, lockdowns and travel restrictions right when they were poised to go big rant

Itzy's choreography is always famous. Even their some title track song a little bit childish their choreo is always looks good. But in girl groups, trend dance moves, movements that anyone can do, are definitely famous, rather than the difficulty of dance choreographies. Even Itzy's finger choreography was difficult for me personally, it's definitely complicated.

Itzy has better individual dancers than LSRFM, like nobody can match Yeji-Chaer in LSRFM, only Chae can come somewhat close. Also Yuna is charismatic af dancing, i dont care if she's technically not as good as Ryujin, i think Ryu is overrated, Yuna is far more fun to watch. And Lia is a weak link for sure.

Itzy has held the performance crown since they debuted tbh. But LSRFM just works as a unit, i have a hard time choosing Itzy over LSRFM these days.

Yeap, basically JYP made them to be a touring/live performance/concert group, especially pitched towards the West/US. It's why he speedran them through that early US showcase and pushed all of them to study and learn English quickly. Probably wanted them touring by late 2020 while momentum was high.
Pandemic stopped that dead in its tracks and JYP had no alternative plan and had no idea what to do with a touring/live performance group besides rest on the laurels of, at the time, being the "top 4th gen group". Aespa came and JYP offered exactly no resistance to their rise and then continued the lack of resistance as other new 4th gen groups appeared.
