Back in 2018/2019, Blackpink was considered feminist because of their girl crush concept, while Twice was considered antifeminist because they cater to men with cute concepts. But now many people start calling Blackpink antifeminist. While Lsrfm/G-idle female empowerment music earns them feminist status. Do you still consider Blackpink feminist or not?
Has Le sserafim/Gidle taken Blackpink place as the feminist girl group?

And a 56 year old feminist woman with a boy group pfp bodyshaming and judging women over what they wear saying they do it for male attention...
Bring the flood.

I agree that their theme of I'm better than all the other gurls just rubs me the wrong way
I think if the girls gave their input in the lyrics, they would do a better job than whoever is their lyricist
I think soyeon's involvement with gidle is the reason why gidle have feminist themes in recent mvs, it's a nice thing

the funny thing in this whole topic is that the fans picking on "I'm the best" type of lyrics stan groups that have men that wrote and sang those lyrics too, men that choose to said those words, now when a gg do it its not right which goes against the whole feminist point
making all this ironic to begin with bc those same fans are picking what ggs is an example of feminism or not depending of what they sing about

Just watched the video and it's hilarious. The same youtuber who would rather listen to men on what they say is feminism.
I see Blackpink more as an empowering girlcrush group than a feminist girlgroup. There are only a few songs that I would genuinely consider feministic and that's fine. I also don't consider LSFM to be a feminist group either, they are just empowering like BP with a more feminine vibe. I would label only Gidle here as a feminist group and only since the Tomboy era.

People seem angered by that video, but it didn't bother me. It was mostly true, especially the part on the idol. I know blinks are gonna be upset, but it's just the truth, when have BP ever marketed themselves as feminist?? That's not their brand. If Jennie was a feminist why would she take the role of the idol where women are obviously being sexulized and brought down.

I always thought that for 3rd gen, Mamamoo were the most “feminist” and promote empowerment among all GGs. They don’t just have the concept but they show it by their actions - fighting for their rights to make sounds that they like, wrote songs with powerful lyrics, doing/wearing whatever they want as a statement.. no other third gen GG are at their level..
Now for 4th gen G-idle is showing the same things, not just “concept” but by doing. Le sserafim is still young, so far not seeing the “feminism” side yet but I hope they will.

Lion is Idle's first feminist song, or their most prevalent to that date.
"Tear down your suffocating prejudices" and talking about crowning a Queen - the stage literally had a female warrior/queen returning from battle to be crowned.
Tomboy is more overt on the gender side of conversation, but make no mistake, Lion was feminist.
A feminist author and critic in Korea discuss it (and other K-pop girl music at the time) here - https://www.nocutnews.co.kr/news/5496388.
Lion signaled a 'change'. "Rare example of a female idol being called a Beast".

Brown Eyed Girls, Mamamoo and G-Idle are the only groups that I would qualify as feminist.

Sure they do... we love policing women on their tone
