Longevity vs higher uls, which one is more important?

longevity high uls can be a result of having a big fanbase although both are important
-
Longevity. A Lot of people that listen to your song is good but a lot of people that keep listening is better

Longevity...

This is true. Longevity really matters at the top, that's why i think the Melon Top 10 Weekly chart is the most important chart for Korean acts. Nobody cares if your song managed to rank 67th for 7 years or whatever, that is most likely fandom driven. It's much better to stay on trend in the top 10 for 30ish weeks, like Dyna or Dorito or NL or Love Dive, than to rank 71st for 10 years.

Longevity.

Go for both

massive hits have both

Both are important. But I think itโs a bell curve and there is a sweet spot for the optimal ratio of listeners and longevity. Getting a million listeners but dropping off in a few weeks is not impressive nor is charting outside the top 40 for years. Middle ground between those is probably important.

As usual, depends on what for I would think.
Longevity speaks to fandom power IMO, while ULs is popularity.

I agree

Higher ULs
Longevity in the lower ranks is hardly remembered
