Because they already know BTS is on hiatus with members in the ARMY duh. So they chose the second best. Similar when Korea wanted BTS to perform for the Winter Olympics but they were “busy”, so they asked Exo.

Anyway, BTS already met Biden (and Kamala) at the White House before. They been there done that. I’m sure they are happy for other idols to experience this kind of responsibility too.
