Why are kpop fans ashamed that kpop success is fandom driven?

  • Because fans now fight each other over things being "organic" or not. Fans mass streaming, bulk buying, social media spam etc has always been fans pushing their faves since Kpop inception decades ago in 1G. Now if a group has a higher number of something it's blamed on fans exaggeration and therefore not as "real" as a say a group has less numbers but more love from public/casuals.

  • They prefer to think their fave are loved by 10 million individual person rather than 1 million person bulk buying I guess... The ''I am not successful in my live so I want my fave to be successful for me'' is a common illness in kpop fans...

  • Over history, alot of niche forms and styles of art were carried and survived bc of their dedicated fans.

Alot of particular art styles wouldn't have survived let alone become renowned later on if their fans didn't became the patrons of those artists.

It seems like only kpop fans are ashamed of this fact and have a chip on their shoulders about it.

Because the most successful acts in history, before Kpop blew up, especially western acts, did not hit it big due to bulk buying and mass streaming of their albums to break records. Their achiements were organic compared to Kpop idols'.

It kinda feels like Kidols cheat their way to the top.
