I don't really follow bg but gosh, each time I see them popped up on my social media I was stunned by how the standard are in hell when it comes to male idols' make up and styling in kpop. Yet, people are too busy talking about gg when it's a thousands time better than anything the company gave to their male idols.
The bar is really low for boy groups' make up and styling yet people don't really say much about it

I agree you can barely tell difference between different era in their styling. Even between groups it’s more or less the sameish
Not quit, when for example looking at NU'EST at debut vs. when they disbanded there is a huge difference. The early 2010s for example were packed with men covered in eyeliner and almost no eyeshadow while it's nowadays more like just eyeshadow

i think its because not many people care about makeup
i think people care about styling if someone's wearing something too atrocious

I have the oposite issue: show me 50 different GGs and I might only notice 5 of them
to be fair at some point all of them were wearing tennis skirts all the time

Meanwhile in Japan: Companies probably wonder why they have to produce so many school uniforms till they realise they are dressing up 50 people big girlgroups all the time
