Good music, company fans, good promotion and focus on Spotify. People think having one means the other doesn’t exist but it’s actually a combination of all of these things and they’re not mutually exclusive.

Not every group with promo will be successful not every group from a big company will be successful and not every group with good music will be successful either. You need more than one thing to be successful and also be at the right place at the right time.

Their music was refreshing at the right time reviving y2k. Ofc another factor is hybe privilege exists so is other big3 ggs.

Their songs are really good and stand out in the current K-pop climate. They give me the same vibes as early Loona. Being from a big company like Hybe is obviously a massive boost as well but that wouldn’t have helped if their music sucked ass.

Anyway, lemme share some anecdotal story from me.. Ditto is so much played in my country’s English Channel radio (hitsfm). Every single time I turn on the radio (usually because I’m driving), Ditto would surely be played. And my nieces and her friends who don’t like kpop just love newjeans songs. (Just the songs, they don’t check out the girls)

i dont know but this debut and first CB run will be studied for years to come i think, no one saw it coming to this degree

They just got into a ton of Spotify playlists. imo not that impressive. its good for mediaplay though.

However the 600+ paks and total domination in the charts in Korea is impressive and 100% organic. There are big competing girl groups who havent promoted for a long time and would be now, but running scared and dare not compete against them.

With their concepts, aesthetics and the diverse background of the members, NJ has been set up since birth to attack the Korean and American markets (with LSRFM tailor made to conquer Japan).
