In past generations there was more representation from black people of color in kpop media: Alex (RaNia), Fatou, Insooni, Yoon Mirae, Lee Michele, Hyunmin (although he as just an mc). In recent era it is unheard of. Instead there's more and more white mixed people than before: Danielle, Bahiyyih, Lili M, and even more on the way from current trainees, Bohme Sera, Guinn Myah, Ella "Little Jennie" Gross, etc. So why is it that despite there being more black Korean mixed people than the past kpop companies are not choosing them as trainees, even though they have increased the diversity of idols from other areas. Whiteness still reigns supreme in kpop. From both companies AND fans who just pay lip service but haven't supported poc idols. I was especially surprised in YG, that despite taking SO much from black culture to make themselves millionaires they have yet to have any black mixed trainee.
Has whiteness gotten worse in kpop over the years?

You're talking as if it's not a known issue.
And it has nothing to do with racism btw.
It's well ingrained in the culture that fair skin is associated with the higher class (nobility).
Because they would always be sheltered and under an umbrella.
While the lower class(peasants and so on) would be in the fields working under the sun.
Let's get our facts straight here. It might be racism in some parts because nobody is perfect.
But it has nothing to do with it when it comes to the actual culture.

but it does. just because it originates in colorism doesn't mean it has nothing to do with racism.

It is important to note that the lack of representation of black and mixed-race individuals in Kpop is not unique to the industry. It is a problem that is prevalent in many areas of the entertainment industry, as well as in society as a whole. While progress has certainly been made, there is still a long way to go in terms of creating more inclusive and diverse spaces. But yes, I also prefer to see k-pop in the colors that he should be (native). Besides if we read https://rafalreyzer.com/reason…lm-movement-is-important/ about why blm movement is important we understand why this is happening like this, I also as I said I am not a big fan of them but now we are in the 21st century and we should be united because otherwise we will not be able to resist.

"Has whiteness gotten worse?" Wow. Racist much?

It's the same....
Koreans brag about ethnic Koreans that are fair skinned so half breeds are hated for not being full ethnic Koreans and praised if they are popular due to their Korean blood.
The "black" half breeds are praised when Koreans can't ignore thier success or want to sell that R&B and Hip Hop are relevant in SK
