I agree. I don't think it matters what personality a person has eg, I am INFj which is the rarest but shouldn't be judged by society just because I am an introvert. In my opinion, society is hung up about folk like us but we do have our strengths.

Of course nonsense people even more complex than mtbi recipe. Not every person is that rigid and stable. There are many variables. A person may not define himself correctly. Sometimes people can be unfair to themselves or fail to make the right judgment about one's own personality. It is always best to be open to development and change, and not to limit yourself to certain patterns, just because I am such a personality. It's just made for fun.

No! I not into Astrology at all, but into MBTI.

I think it has some fundamentals behind it. But I couldn't care less.

I didn't say similar, I said as valid.

It's true that the two people behind the creation of said assessment, Briggs and Myers, didn't have any psychology training and didn't come off with the theory themselves from the scratch. Actually, MBTI is what we can call a more simplified reconstruction of the theory of Psychological Types by Carl Jung, since he was always very interested in Archetypes and how people are able to live it up.

When I was at college, I really don't remember of having much time dedicated to learn about MBTI or teached how to use It as a reliable measure of personality, mostly because It's not backed up enough by scientific evidence and the focus was mostly on Carl Jung and what he come off with himself.

Despite not being an instrument of work useful for me and I'm not really interested or passionate, since my perspective is Behaviorism/Behavior Analysis and It's a completely different way, I don't invalidate It.

If people think It's useful for giving them a sense of belonging, If helps them to identify personality traits, their weakness and strengths, then good for the person, I suppose. I've also read stories of offices using as an instrument to measure traits of their employees or future employees and It seems to work for them, so nice.

Except it's not.

It wasn't devised by anyone who had any education in the psychiatric field (or any formal education at all) and is not used or taken seriously by psychiatrists.

It's based on character types theorised by Jung, sure, but even that is not science.
